ever since the entry of the humble diesel diner to my family, we have going out slightly more, as the whole family. previously, that would have proved itself an arduous task, one that might even be seen as too laborious, to wait for the mercurial services of the public transport, travel there, and then back again. perhaps this might be amplified by the fact that both my sis and i our own responsibilities and demands screaming for our attention, such that family might at times be over preceded by things on the periphery of the social circle.
but with the addition of labour to a diesel diner whose gentle cries and complains surface the moment we push for above 70km/h, a flank of excuses hindering family time has been completely eradicated.
now, no longer do we need to wait and be at the mercy of the ever unpredictable bus services. our diesel diner is ever ready for a walk down the masterly paved roads of singapore, pretty much just an upsized garden, waiting to be at our service. this little factor, small as it might seem, has in its ways added alot of incentives for simple meals together as a family.
tho even today that is not often, but every once in a while when both my parents, my sis and myself are present, the sense of familiarity seem to resurface and old school memories relives itself.
and it seems to me that im slowly but yet steadily gaining interest in the affairs of the family of diesel consumers. what people view as work just to meet ends meet, i view as fun and exciting, definately better than office work or project planning stuffs. perhaps when i finally do get my class 5 and help out abit here and there, i can understand what my father has been thro to get us where we are. hopefully i can get to love him even more and appreicate him and not just hate his drinking and verbal provocations to mama.
if u ask me a few years ago, i would never have thought i would see this in my father.... but hey, he's a nice guy.
on the sidenote, i cant wait to tame my family's diesel diner! (:
